Terrington Machinery has been appointed agent for the Rapid Mulch straw spreading harrow manufactured by Bugnot, of France.
The machines are designed to follow high-throughput combines, effectively spreading wasted grain and weed seeds across a wider area to encourage quicker re-growth within the stubble in readiness for more effective incorporation. They also spread slug eggs over a wide area and expose them to the weather.
The straw spreaders feature four rows of tines across folding sections and are available in widths from 6.0-9.0m. They feature hydraulic angle adjustment of the 16mm diameter x 750mm long tines from the cab.
The equipment is designed for rapid speed work and represents a low-cost, but effective method of weed germination before soil tillage and is another machine to assist with low- or no-till cultivations.
The Bugnot straw harrow joins Terrington’s established straw incorporators: the Einböck Twister, now with pre-loosening sub-soiler tines, and the Einböck Typhoon combination cultivator.
