Agrifac: J-boom design extended to 36m wide

Accelerated by the increasing demand for wider, more stable and durable spraying booms, Agrifac has extended the availability of its newest-generation booms. From this season the commonly used 36m spray boom is also available with the round tube J-boom previously used on the company’s larger booms.
A round tube forms the basis of these spray booms. This results in an unmatched robust and stable boom construction that is easy to clean and to maintain. The increased resistance against torsion during folding in and out is the result of some well-thought out improvements. The hinges between the first and second inner boom parts and the vertical profiles have been significantly reinforced. This results in increased durability and a longer life.
In combination with constant oil pressure and reduced hose lengths, the spray booms remain absolutely stable, even when driving at 30km/hr across uneven fields and roads.
The new round J-boom now offers nozzle protection along the complete boom width. Every boom part offers excellent nozzle and nozzle holder protection, even when spraying with partly folded booms, resulting in lower risk for damage to nozzles, nozzle holders and spray lines.
The new construction reduces the required maintenance. The grease nipples can be easily reached enabling quicker and easier maintenance and service.
The new generation J-boom is available from 36-48m on the self-propelled Agrifac Condor and from 39-48m on the trailed Agrifac Milan. The commonly used 36m spray booms are available with newly designed break-away 2m wide end sections. These tips are supported by double acting springs offering increased stability and automatic return to their original position.
From Autumn 2010 onwards, the 36m new generation round J-boom will also be available on the trailed Agrifac Milan.
