Bomford Turner has upgraded and extended its Kestrelhedge and verge cutter offering that isdesigned for farmers needing a lighter weight machine suitable for use on smaller tractors.
The latest Kestrel Evo range offers the option of features found on much larger machines, but both the revised 5.0m and brand new 5.7m models have minimum tractor requirements of just 70hp and 3,000kg tractor weight.
In common with the rest of the Evo Bomford arm mowers, the Kestrel Evo features a stylish new rounded hood design incorporating distinctive rear decals and LED lights.
The new Kestrel 5.7 features a non-parallel linkage and is cable controlled as standard. The standard specification also includes a heavy-duty 1.2m wide Pro-Trim flail head with 115mm diameter roller. A double-helix shaft gives a 45 per cent overlap between flails, ensuring a clean and neat finish. Naturally, buyers have a of flail options, and for heavier growth the Kestrel 5.7 can also be fitted with the company’s new Pro-Saw cutting head.
The Kestrel 5.7 also features power slew and a hydraulic break-out system and is fitted to the tractor using a tubular three-point linkage system with stabilisers. The specification also includes twin-gear oil pumps with a flow rate of 84 lit/min.
Both Kestrel Evo models come ready for work and are supplied complete with hydraulic oil and full road lighting. Options available include a low-pressure proportional hydraulic control system, complete with oil cooler; a larger 150mm diameter roller; and a new hydraulic roller that allows the cutting height to be altered when verge mowing or for the roller to be moved out the way for hedge cutting.
