Opico signs up Ernest Doe for Maschio in the East of England

Opico has appointed Ernest Doe & Sons to distribute the Maschio range of cultivation machinery across the Eastern Counties and South-east of England. Based at Ulting in Essex, Ernest Doe is the UK’s largest agricultural machinery dealership. It operates east of a line from the Wash to the Solent and has premises at 19 locations across the region.
The sales director at Ernest Doe,
Graham Parker, said the Maschio name has been known in the UK for more than 40 years.
“We have been selling their products since 2000,” he said.”With the appointment of Opico as the new importer for Maschio last year, we had to make a decision – either to sell the Maschio range through Opico or stay with our previous supplier.
“It was an easy decision. First of all, we have been pleased with the quality and reliability of the Maschio range over the years, and customer demand has shown that this is the brand that farmers want to buy.
“Second, we already had a good trading relationship with Opico through selling their grassland equipment. We know the people there, and we have great faith in the company taking the Maschio name from strength to strength in the UK.”
Opico’s Maschio product specialist, David Day, said Ernest Doe & Sons had the reputation of being a very professional dealership.
“The company pays attention to the detail and has a quality sales and service team,” he said. “We are looking forward to developing our partnership with the team at Ernest Doe. The Maschio product range is set to extend further, enabling their customers to access an even wider range of quality-made cultivation equipment, drills and mowers.”
A selection of Maschio equipment will be on display at the 2012 Doe Show (February 7, 8 and 9), including the new Orso and Toro power harrows, machines from their extensive ranges of flail mowers and rotary cultivators, the new Alitalia and Dama combination drills and the Primavera tine seeder.
