Austrian farm machinery manufacturer Pöttinger has announced that it will take over distribution of its products in the UK with the formation of a new subsidairy, Alois Pottinger UK Ltd, on September 1, 2012.
The new company will take over from current distributor Landmec and will be responsible for the whole product range that covers products for use in grassland, cultivation and seeding.
A family-run business,Pöttinger already hassales subsidiaries in Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Canada and Australia.
“The UK is a key market for us, therefore to reflect its importance we have taken the step of forming our own subsidiary,” Heinz Pöttinger said.
Pöttinger machinery has been available on the UK market via Landmec for nearly 20 years and a strong existing dealer network is already in place. After September 1, the company’s presence here will be taken over by the new subsidiary, which will be based at Corby, Northamptonshire.
