The new Hibiscus 655 SD Classic is a logical successor to the successful Hibiscus 765 SD (previously 1525) and it has a working width of 6.5m.
Featuring a robust construction, optimum ease of use, minimum maintenance as well as an attractive price/quality ratio, this rake has been developed for medium-sized dairy farms requiring a combination of minimum investment and optimum flexibility in terms of total working width and swath shape.
The Lely Hibiscus 655 SD Classic provides all functions that are required for easy operation and it clearly distinguishes itself from cheaper side delivery concepts. A perfect example of this excellence: the machine’s outstanding manoeuvring characteristics. The rugged linked steering system ensures an exceptionally small turning circle. Thanks to this technique, tractor drivers can turn on headlands without problems, make their way into a field, negotiate narrow and winding roads as well as crossing dry ditches.
The Hibiscus 655 SD Classic has a net working width of 5.80 m (6.50m with the swath included) and it is capable of laying down a single swath or building a double swath by means of a second passage. The design of the hydraulic system is such that, when lifting the machine on headlands, the front rotor is lifted first, followed by the rear one. The tractor driver can negotiate headlands without having to wait or hold back, while still ensuring perfect swaths.
The heart of this rake is the Classic rotor, a very compact rotor fitted with 11 tine arms. The rotors are fitted to the main chassis by means of sturdy sub frames. The 3D principle is used for ground contour following ensuring optimum adjustment of the rotor in all directions. The carefully engineered wheel assembly ensures an outstandingly stable machine run as well as excellent output.
Due to the favourable dimensions of the Hibiscus 655 SD Classic the machine does not require removable tine arms or foldable frames. The Classic rotor is fitted with outstandingly durable chrome steel shafts onto which the tine arms are firmly secured by means of two bolts.
This new Hibiscus model has been exhaustively tested throughout Europe, with excellent results and very positive reactions from users.
