Designed for large farms, a new King Roller, which will be the widest and heaviest model in the He-Va range of hydraulic folding rolls, will be launched at the Cereals Event by Opico.
The new five-section model is available with a working width of 12.5m or 15.3m, and ring sizes of 510mm or 620mm. The transport width is less than 3.0m.
The King Roller range has the same key design features as the rest of the He-Va range with centre pivoting on all sections to allow them to follow ground contours. The company’s special active transfer (SAT) system transfers the weight of the frame, drawbar and wheel evenly across the working width, to ensure consistent rolling across the field.
The design of the King Roller is very similar to that of the current 12.2m Swing Roller, but uses a much heavier frame with strengthened wing joints and pivoting points to enable the wider working width.
A hydraulic accumulator and pressure gauge system allows the SAT weight transfer system to be set by the driver for field work, and the rolls quickly fold horizontally for transport from the tractor seat.
Opico managing director James Woolway said the market had been demanding wider and heavier rolls for some time.
“We are pleased to be able to offer a choice of machines,” he said. “The heavier 620mm ring in a 12.5m format, and the extra large 15.3m model, that will satisfy the growing popularity in 30m tramlines.”
Imported from Denmark by Opico, the new He-Va King Rollers are 12.5m and 15.3m wide, and weigh 9,710kg and 11,490kg respectively. When fitted with 620mm rings they retail at £34,642 and £42,174 respectively (prices correct at April 2009).
