Kuhn: Latest Gyrorakes are built for reliability

The GA8713 and GA9513 from Kuhn Farm Machinery extend the company’s range of semi-mounted twin-rotor Gyrorakes that now includes models with working widths ranging from 5.5-9.3m. Characteristically well-built, these latest Gyrorakes have been developed to provide the performance and reliability required for UK conditions.

The patented Masterdrive two-stage gearbox is a key attribute on the new machines. Using bevel and spur-gear reduction, this feature is exclusive to Kuhn Gyrorakes and is a significant factor in their reliability and suitability for intensive work. The gearbox is totally enclosed for minimal maintenance and, with no crown wheel and pinion, it is designed for reliability under intensive use, with reduced potential for wear and lower risk of breakdowns.

The two new Gyrorakes also feature tangentially mounted tine arms and double-curved arms to optimise raking performance. They boast excellent ground-following at high speeds – a characteristic that’s made possible by Kuhn’s three-dimensional rotor articulation and the six-wheel undercarriage on each rotor (including a bogie axle).

Windrow width can be adjusted from 1.40-2.30m to ensure compatibility with the pick-ups of the largest balers, and raking height is easily adjustable. A pivoting headstock and good ground clearance for headland turning aid manoeuvrability, while safety in transport is ensured by hydraulic rotor locking.
Kuhn’s Gyrorake range also includes fully mounted single-rotor models with working widths from 3.2-4.5m.
