Deutz-Fahr: New engines for 2013 combine offering

Deutz-Fahr’s range ofcombines for 2013 confirms the brand’s tradition of power and dependability plus the addition of important new features and the introduction of new Stage IIIB engines.
The new Deutz TCD L6 engines – a 6.1litre unit rated at 230hp and a 7.8-litre unit rated at 395hp – are guaranteed to deliver high performance in the field while achieving levels of fuel economy among the best in their class. The capacity of the 60 Series fuel tank has been increased to 750 litres, ensuring 35 per cent longer intervals between refuelling stops compared to previous models. The AdBlue tank is also bigger, now 85 litres, so that refuelling operations will be more efficient.
A new grain tank extension has been introduced for the 6090, 6090 HTS and 6095 HTS (non Balance) models. This optimises capacity and increases on-board storage to 9,500 litres. In addition, the updated design of the grain tank with its new folding step ladder ensures greater ease of access to mechanical parts of the grain elevator, ultimately simplifying maintenance operations.
The closing mechanism of the rear flaps has also been redesigned to improve safety and ease of use, adopting the technology of automotive type systems with stronger cables. The new step ladder has multiple anchor points and ensures convenient and safe use on the various sections of the machine, facilitating routine servicing operations and simplifying access to all mechanical parts.
The stone trap has also been completely redesigned; there is a new wider opening, giving better access to the preparation floor for simpler and easier maintenance.
The superior performance of Deutz-Fahr combines can now be supervised even more closely by way of a new system for monitoring the operation of the sieves, which uses double sensors and a control bar extending the entire length of the sieve box to guarantee greater sensitivity in measuring productivity of the machine.
The new chaff conveyor system, using two chutes to the rear of the sieves, ensures that material is directed smoothly toward the chaff spreader and then to either side, without encroaching on the straw chopper.
And there are also important new developments regarding cutter bar transportation, with coupling of the trailer made easier by a new height-adjustable automatic hitch system and a rear CCTV camera trained on the hitch point.
Finally, new camera kits allow selection of up to three colour and infra red cameras (discharge pipe – rear end – towing hitch) with images relayed to a new and larger seven-inch monitor.
