Responding to demand from the composting sector, Rolland has introduced the new Rollmax range which has three models available, the Rollmax 6325, 7130 and 8735, with volumes from 20-37 cubic metres.
Domex steel is used for extra strength in the floor, while four 16mm marine chains are used to move the contents out of the spreader. All models have a hydraulic drawbar as standard that cuts out shocks through the use of an accumulator. Flotation tyres are fitted as standard with various different sizes on offer.
Large-volume spreaders with the possibility of fitting side extensions to increase capacity are sought after in the vegetable waste and composting sectors where the material has very little weight.
With extension sides fitted, the Rollmax spreaders can have their beater frame removed and a silage door fitted for use as a trailer. The moving floor locks the rear door shut.
There are two beater frame options on the Rollmax. The first is Rolland’s TCE, which has twin horizontal rotors, a hydraulic rear hood and two spinning discs. A spread width of up to 24m can be obtained so there is the possibility of using tramlines.
Also on offer is the C10 beater frame. It offers twin vertical rotors that spread up to 10m wide depending on the density of the product, and has proved more popular for waste/compost disposal where large quantities/ha are required.
Prices start at £36,250 (December 2009).
