Joskin has just extended its Multitwist boom offering to suit today’s ever-increasing tank and high-flow pump capacities. The Multitwist multi-nozzle boom is used for spreading close to the ground, where its multiple nozzles spread slurry while reducing the losses of fertilising value due to evaporation.
Now available in 18m and 24m widths, the booms is made up of two arms with double articulation that can be folded laterally along the tank. These arms pivot downwards (+/-180 degrees), allowing the Twist anti-drip system to be applied.
The central point of the boom is made up of a distribution box collecting the slurry directly coming from the tank through a 200mm hose and distributing it evenly to the two half-booms through 150mm rigid pipes.
The nozzles (ended by a rubber cone) allow the slurry to be spread on vegetation under the form of umbrella jets. Each nozzle works on a width of 3m with an overlap of 75cm. This guarantees the slurry is evenly spread over the whole working width.
Each nozzle is fitted to the boom by means of a quick coupling allowing easy disassembly. It is then possible to place a cap on the coupling to vary the spreading width from 24m to 21m or 18m and even to 15m.
Joskin’s high-capacity Joskin slurry tankers – the Quadra and Euroliner – can be fitted with the new Multitwist multi-nozzle booms.
