Claas: A co-ordinated approach to make farming Easy

In order to simplify and clarify the inter-relationship and role of its precision farming products, Claas has brought them all under the Easy (Efficient Agriculture Systems) banner, which clearly defines the role of the management and control systems available on the firms’ machinery.
To clarify the purpose of individual management and control systems, Easy is subdivided into four distinct groups:

  • On Board – this covers all the electronic hardware systems fitted to the machinery itself, for example Cebis, Cebis Mobile, Claas Communicator, Cemos, Laser Pilot, Auto Pilot and Auto Fill.
  • On Field – this includes all the uses for the hardware, for example GPS steering, implement control, CSM (Claas Sequence Management), variable rate applications and Crop Meter.
  • On Track – this covers the system monitoring functions, such as Telematics and yield mapping.
  • On Farm – in this group is all the office based software, for example Telematics and mapping software such as Agro Map or Agro Net.

From having been one of the first companies to offer an automatic steering system 30 years ago, when Auto Pilot was introduced for maize harvesting, Claas has gone on to develop and market an extensive range of electronic management and control systems for agricultural machinery.
In addition to a complete range of GPS based steering,
Claas now offers a wide range of electronic management and operating systems that are intuitive to use and logical in the functions they offer to help customers control and manage their farms and machinery.
For 2011, in addition to the introduction of the new Cemos combine optimisation system, which was awarded a Gold Medal at Agritechnica last year, the availability of the company’s unique
Telematics machinery management and monitoring system has been extended to forage harvesters and tractors.
An originator of steering systems for machinery,
Claas has also launched a number of new GPS steering systems. In addition to the Cebis Mobile terminal, Claas has also designed its own steering system GPS Pilot II and has also extended the area covered by its own RTK network.
