Fendt: Stage IIIB Vario 300 tractors launched

The 300 Vario range from Fendt, which has found many enthusiastic users since it first appeared in 2006, has been reworked to meet Stage IIIB engine emission standards by fitting SCR technology. The familiar, proven features have been retained and the range has been extended with a new top model in the shape of the 313 Vario with 135hp.
The revised 300 Vario tractors now cover the power range from 95-135hp, and completing the new five-tractor line-up are the 95hp 309 Vario, the 105hp 310 Vario, the 115hp 311 Vario and the 125hp 312 Vario.

They are all powered by a 4.04-litre, four-cylinder Deutz engine with four-valve technology and a 1,600-bar common rail high-pressure injection system. Electronic engine control, turbocharger with electronic wastegate and viscous fan featured on Fendt’s
high-horsepower tractor ranges have all now been added to the 300 Vario.
Fendt also relies on SCR technology on these new tractors to comply with the
Euro 3B emissions standard. This technology, which is familiar from the 700, 800 and 900 Vario high-horsepower tractors, has already proved its superior fuel economy. Since the exhaust after-treatment with AdBlue urea solution takes place after the combustion process, and exhaust gas recirculation is not required, the company argues that the engine can be optimally tuned for improved fuel economy, but it also increases performance and makes handling livelier.
The four-cylinder engines are characterised by an outstanding torque rise of up to 43 per cent, combined with a maximum torque of 590Nm.
The highly effective and time-tested
ML75 Vario transmission ensures an efficient drive train. Thanks to infinitely variable speed adjustment from 20m/hr to 40km/hr, the 300 Vario is predestined for versatile applications, starting from speciality crop or row crop work to grassland operations and arable farming, to classic work as a farmyard tractor
The TMS tractor management system is now found on the 300 Vario as standard and ensures extremely economical driving, automatically.
The operating concept on the 300 Vario unites easy handling with state-of-the-art technology. All operating elements are centrally located on the steering column and the right-hand console. New in this tractor class is the on-board computer which displays important information on area coverage and time.
The single-gate Vario-Stick unites the main gearshift lever, the group gears, the powershift stages and the controls for the super crawler gearbox into one operating element. In view of ergonomics, it is ideally placed on the right-hand console.
The integral backrest extension and the seat depth adjustment allow the air-suspended comfort seat to be perfectly adapted to different sized operators. The 300 Vario is also available with the optional Super Comfort Seat, which additionally features a seat heater, low frequency suspension and pneumatic lumbar support. A height- and tilt-adjustable steering column ensures an optimum sitting position. The optional cab suspension and hydropneumatic front-axle suspension guarantee the best ride comfort.
The new 300 Vario range is equipped with a comprehensive lighting concept that maximises working comfort at night; Xenon lights are available as an option. The wide-angle mirror (optional) extends the operator’s field of vision and thus ensures greater safety.
Adding Fendt’s Cargo front loader – available in various configurations – turns the 300 Vario into a CVT wheeled loader. The front loader is mounted compactly on the tractor, so the centre of gravity of the tractor plus the loader lies farther back towards the rear. With the compact 3X70 front loader arm, the 300 Vario is optimally suited for loader work inside buildings and barns. The tremendous manoeuvrability of the tractor is a great advantage for these operations.
The 4X75 arm offers impressive loading height and reach, and is therefore ideal for the most demanding front loader work. The optionally available roof window is recommended for applications where the front loader is in frequent use as it provides an optimal view to both the arm and attachment.

Redesigned hydraulics mean the rear lift capacity is now almost 6,000kg.

The brakes on the 300 Vario have been refined allowing the permissible gross weight to be increased from 8.0t to 8.5t. In combination with a low unladen weight of 4,230kg (309 Vario), this amounts to a maximum payload of 4,270kg (313 Vario).
The hydraulics have been redesigned and the rear lift now has a lifting capacity of nearly 6.0t and can therefore lift more than 500kg more than its predecessor. Thanks to the new tandem hydraulic pump, the oil delivery capacity has been increased from 78 to 83 lit/min.
The improved steering lock, in combination with the pivoting mudguards, permits an even better steering angle. The combination of a 4.15m vehicle length, a 2.35m wheelbase and a 52-degree steering angle result in a turning radius of only 4.2m for the best manoeuvring and turning characteristics.
The legendary reputation of the Fendt 300 range began in the 1980s, and with more than 11,000 of the previous 300 Varios having now been sold –
representing one of the highest volume ranges from the Fendt brand – the latest models are likely to be warmly welcomed.
