Holmer: Terra Variant spreader debuts at Cereals 2009

Cereals 2009 will provide the first UK show outing for the new Holmer Terra Variant systems tractor with a Bergmann spreader, suitable for spreading most types of solids.
Terra Variant is the world’s most powerful tractor in series production; 500hp or 600hp engine options are offered. Terra Variant features four-wheel steering and automatic front suspension with self-levelling. Steering functions include a dog-leg offset track function to spread the load, reduce soil compaction and leave level fields.
Automatic suspension and stability controls make the machine safer on hills and easier to drive at higher speeds over rough terrain; again reducing soil damage.
The Bergmann spreader has a capacity of 26 cubic metres and is equipped with two horizontal cutter knife shafts and twin large diameter spreading discs.
All drives and gearboxes are upgraded for this Bergmann; a special heavy-duty model, specifically designed for use with Terra Variant.
Holmer will manufacture 50 Terra Variants this year; many of those will be sold with Zunhammer 21,000-litre capacity slurry injection equipment and Amazone Catros cultivator. Fast changing between applications is one of the reasons for the success of Terra Variant; it can earn more money for more months of the year!
Popular Terra Variant uses include slurry injection, muck and sludge spreading, fertiliser application, drilling, cultivating, lime spreading, as a sugar beet chaser, a combinable crop chaser and many other applications. Specification includes a powerful hydraulic system, three-point linkage with an 11t lift capacity, rear mudguard mounted linkage controls and a purpose-built air-conditioned cabin with high emphasis on comfort and ease of control for the operator. The cabin tilts forward for easy maintenance access.
