Same: New Tier 3 engines for Dorado tractors

Same’s Dorado range now includes the new Dorado 60, 80 and 90 models, which are powered by new three or four-cylinder SDF Tier 3 engines.
The Dorado 60 and 80 have 62hp and 82hp, three-cylinder turbo diesels, while the Dorado 90 has a 85hp, four-cylinder turbo intercooled engine. All are 100% compatible with biodiesel and employ an injection system that uses a single injection pump for each cylinder – an innovative arrangement that guarantees very high working pressure and instantaneous injection, which optimises
performance and fuel economy.
To ensure the engine is always producing the most efficient output an electronic regulator is used to control the fuel injection process in respect of engine load and speed.
The new Dorado tractor range continues to maintain the versatility and multi-functionality of the previous series yet it is brand new in terms of look and contents, offering the latest technologies capable of improving productivity and working comfort.
The new one-piece tilting bonnet is the feature that immediately stands out in the new range, which also offers a new cab with four pillars and equipped with a generous amount of glass. The result is a comfortable working environment that has tremendous all-round visibility further enhanced by the high-visibility roof which makes it significantly easier to carry out farmyard tasks requiring a front loader.
In addition, the tractors in the range adopt the latest and most advanced technologies developed by Same. They include: Powershift transmission with three speeds under-load, and Overspeed, an electronic system which allows the tractors to reach speeds of up to 40km/hr with the engine running at an economical rpm.
Overboost is available for the Dorado 90 model and allows the engine to increase its output during the most demanding jobs in the field when extra power and torque is requested. Stop & Go is available on all Dorado models equipped with a hydraulic shuttle –
it controls tractor movements simply by operating the brakes only, without having to use the clutch pedal – a real winner for those who have loader work to perform.
The Dorado range is also extremely versatile when it comes to the pto, which is equipped with oil immersed multi-discs with speed of 540/540 Eco/1,000 rpm and synchronized PTO – all of which means the new Dorado can be used very efficiently with a wide number of implements requiring a PTO drive.
