Milk producers with restricted headroom in their cattle accommodation can now install a low-profile version of the feeding station closing gate launched in May 2012 by Dutch manufacturer Hanskamp AgroTech.
The new low version of the gate requires minimum headroom of just 2.58m (8ft 6in).
The L-shaped closing gate, in either standard or low version, suits all feeding stations and shuts quietly down behind a cow once feed is in the trough. This stops dominant cows bullying shy feeders thus reducing the risk of stress, lost yield or even injury.
When a cow finishes feeding, the robust Hanskamp AgroTech Closing Gate silently lifts up again.
