The Agri-Plastics range of calf hutches is now available across the UK and Republic of Ireland from Teemore Engineering. Billed as theworld’s toughest calf hutches, they were launched on the European market at Hanover’s EuroTier 2012 show where they were nominated for a Gold Medal Award.
The group calf hutch has a three–in–one rear door designed for easy access. This also makes it simple to bed by hand or machine and much easier to check on calves as well as ensuring better ventilation. The Agri-Plastics group calf hutch also has a bedding bar that can be used when doors are left open.
These features are already popular with farmers using the robust Agri-Plastics single calf hutches, which give calves a healthier, well–ventilated environment and reduces the time needed for routine feeding and bedding.
Agri-Plastics calf hutches, designed by dairy farmers in Ontario, Canada, are manufactured using melt–blended, high-grade polyethylene and moulded in one solid piece to arrive fully assembled. This means of manufacture gives 50% better impact strength, a longer life and, being opaque, high UV protection. They are claimed to be a major advance on alternative hutches made from dry polyethylene.
Another great feature is the integrated, double–walled poly skid design on the base, which has huge practical advantages over using a wooden foundation that would be prone to decay. Agri-Plastics Calf Hutches come with a 10-year warranty, the best on the market, and are able to withstand the extremes of the climate.
