Kuhn: RSM mower for grass and verge maintenance

The Kuhn range of equipment for landscape management has grown with the launch of a new roadside mower. Particularly for use with low power tractors, the RSM completes the present Spring-Longer range. At 1.80m or 2.10m wide, the RSM has been developed for jobs such as management of roadside verges, field edges or grassy areas.
The new specifications of the RSM roadside mower are the result of Kuhn’s experience in the design of landscape management equipment. The structural elements are built of non-tubular material that will withstand high stress or strain. For ensured reliability, joints are mounted on honeycomb wear rings and the shafts are stopped from rotating.
The specially shaped body features a forward positioned sensor roller for perfect ground following; Hardox steel protective skids; and anti-wrap deflectors to give the best protection for the rotor bearings. All contribute to a greater cutting capability.
The mower’s unit hydraulic lift automatically compensates for unevenness of the verge, allows cutting above the road level and work down in a ditch. To deal with all working conditions, the cutter bar can swivel between 55 degrees below vertical in a ditch to 90 degrees above vertical on an embankment.
The RSM 180 and RSM 210 roadside mowers come with the following equipment as standard: a 160mm rear roller with removable ends and protected reinforced bearings; double-skin body; mechanical safety breakaway system; and automatic belt tensioning.
For easier clearance of obstacles, the RSM can be fitted with a hitch frame with built-in hydraulic offset of up to 580mm.
