Zetor: 2013 launch for 77hp Major

Czech Republicbased tractor manufacturer Zetor has released the first details of its new Major model that will be available from the beginning of 2013. A smaller-sized compact tractor with a power output of 77hp, it takes its name from one of the most successful tractors in the brand’s history.
“The new Zetor Major model is predominantly intended for owners of smaller-sized or family farms and stands out in terms of its price/output ratio,” Zetor’s
deputy chief executive and production director, Marián Lipovsk, said. “Its based on a tried and tested four-valve engine that has been designed without electronics and additional supplements to fuel just like other factory engines from our brand.”
Series production of the tractor will begin in the first quarter of 2013 when cabbed, four-wheel drive versions will be built. Two-wheel drive models with cabs will follow in the second quarter of 2013, with platform versions in both two- and four-wheel drive coming later.
The new Major features a 4.2-litre Zetor engine rated at 77hp at 2,200rpm. This drives the wheels via a fully synchronised four-stage gearbox with three-stage reduction and reversing that provides 12 forward and 12 reverse speeds with a maximum speed of 30km/hr.

Zetor’s new 77hp Major will go into production at the start of 2013.

A mechanical hydraulic system is used that stands out in terms of its 2,600kg lift capacity and includes a lock function for use when transporting tools.
The comfortable cab has been constructed with ample space and ergonomically designed controls to make operating the tractor easier.
There’s also a roof window for carrying out front loader work in a safe manner. Optional air-conditioning is also available.
