Kverneland: Veenhuis forage wagon business acquired

Veenhuis’ forage wagon range has been taken over by Kverneland.

The Kverneland Group has entered into an agreement with Veenhuis Machines to acquire the loader and transport wagon division of the company. Kverneland Group takes over all rights of the products with immediate effect, with the machines to be distributed by the Vicon and Kverneland Taarup brands.
The new product range will be integrated into the Kverneland Group operations and will be part of the Business Area Forage Equipment. It represents a strong addition to the existing Vicon and Kverneland Taarup forage equipment ranges, and is a major leap forward in extending the current offering of loader and transport wagons. The acquisition provides immediate access to many years of knowledge and experience in loader and transport wagons, and to a highly recognised and strong product range.
The new range fits well into the strategic ambitions of Kverneland Group, of a continuous offering of strong and distinct product ranges in the Vicon and Kverneland Taarup branding. This is a first step in a very ambitious strategy to broaden and expand the future product range within forage harvesting.
“This is a very important move for Kverneland Group in our ambition to clearly strengthen our position within the loader and transport wagon segments,” themanaging director of Kverneland’s  forage equipment business area, Claus Udengaard Thomsen, said. “Veenhuis belongs to the pioneers in developing multi purpose rotor wagons, with products positioned at the high end of the segment.”
“We are very pleased to be able to include such a strong and high reputation range within our product portfolio. The new products offer an immediate extension of our broad product offering, as well as providing a perfect platform for further development.”
The new product range includes combi wagons, transport wagons, transfer wagons and silage spreaders. The combi wagon is available in two versions (35 and 40 cubic metres), and can be used as both rotor loader wagon and/or transport wagon. The large capacity transport wagons are available in sizes of 40, 45, and 50 cubic metres, while a 30 cubic metre T-Rex Shuttle transfer wagon is a new concept for rapid transport of especially maize, from the forager onto trucks or road trailers for longer distance transport.

The 30 cubic metre T-Rex Shuttle transfer wagon is a new concept for rapid transport.

In addition to the wagons, the new product range also includes silage spreaders for even distribution of the crop at the silage clamp. Two types of silage spreaders are offered.
Veenhuis Machines B.V. has decided to continue operations without the grassland division and fully concentrate its business on manure handling equipment. Veenhuis Machines will continue production of the current models for Kverneland Group during 2010 and 2011.
