Recently appointed Farmtrac importer Surrey Power Machines has kicked off its UK offering with the compact 535 two-wheel drive model that the firm thinks will appeal as a scraper tractor and to smallholders and hobby farmers.
The 33.5hp tractor, which is built in India and then shipped to Farmtrac’s Polish factory to be adapted for EU regulations, should also find favour with Ford tractor fans as it’s based on the Ford 2000/3000 models from the 1960s.
Powered by a three-cylinder, 2.1-litre engine, the tractor gets power to the tyres via an eight-forward/two-reverse constant mesh transmission. It also has a live 540rpm PTO (at 1,710rpm); a Category 2 three-point hitch with a lift capacity of 1,050kg; a hydraulic flow of up to 34 lit/min through two spool valves; and hydrostatic steering.
Approximately 3.5m long and 1.8m wide, the tractor weighs in at about 2,000kg complete with a folding ROPS bar. The standard tyres are 6.00-16s on the front and 12.4-28s on the drive axle. A fore-end loader is available if required.
The launch price is £9,995 (correct at July 2012).
