Profitable Farming Company: Record order from Russia

The Profitable Farming Company has won its largest ever order that will see the firm supplying 79 Baler’s Choice Commercial Automatic Preservative Applicators to one of the largest farming companies in Russia.
The order has been placed from ABH Miratorg, which has arable, poultry and livestock units spread throughout south west Russia. The fact that these applicator units will be fitted to the company’s 79 John Deere 864 variable-chamber balers gives an indication of the mammoth scale of the farming operation. The applicators will help improve forage conservation and increase the quality of their forage by enabling them to bale at high moistures to improve crop yield and feed quality.
The Baler’s Choice commercial applicator is a modular system based around an Isobus communications hub, a touch-screen control unit and twin moisture-sensing discs fitted in the chamber that provide information on the moisture content of the material being baled and baling speed. Added to this base unit will be the Baler’s Choice Automatic Applicator system module that includes a tank, three-pump applicator unit and spray nozzles.
Using the moisture readings from the discs in the bale chamber, Baler’s Choice preservative is applied at moisture contents between 15-30 per cent at automatically variable application rates of between 1.9-7.6 lit/t. In addition, crop eye sensors on the pick-up ensure that the Baler’s Choice preservative is only applied when material is flowing through the baler, and sensors on the tailgate calculate baling speed in conjunction with the hay indicator crop-eye sensors.
ABH Miratorg was established in 1995 and has grown to become one of Russia’s largest farming companies, encompassing both livestock and arable production, through to food processing and distribution. The core of Miratorg’s operation is pork production with 2.5 million mainly PIC and Hermitage sows.
However, the company has also recently set-up a new beef production and processing unit. This has involved the establishment of 40 farms with 60,000ha of grazing and 95,000ha of tillage. To stock these farms, the company imported 100,000 Aberdeen-Angus and Hereford cattle from the United States.
