Kuhn has expanded its mower range with all-new PZ models for front and rear mounting. Mowing widths from 1.65-8.50m can now be offered.
The PZ 270 and PZ 300 are no nonsense rear-mounted plain drum mowers with working widths of 265cm and 295cm respectively. These mowers utilise the well known FlexProtect side protection guards.
In combination with a Kuhn PZ front drum mower a working width of nearly 6m can be achieved with a relatively low horsepower, reducing costs without loss of capacity.
Both models feature a strong headstock and sub frame with a standard break-away device.
A split driveline allows the saucers to rotate and follow the ground during mowing for optimum support, while using the optional wide spreading device allows mowing and spreading in one operation speeding the drying process.
The new front mowers are the PZ 280F, 320F and 320FC.
With working widths of up to 310cm, and in combination with several other features, these mowers are extremely suitable for daily indoor-feeding use as well as for wider forage harvesting.
Thanks to the use of modular aluminium building blocks, parts can easily be exchanged and the total weight of the machine remains low.
The front and side protection guard can be folded upwards for good access to the four drums. The knives can be exchanged by one hand within short notice and without the need for any additional tools.
Both outer drums are again protected by FlexProtect. These flexible side protection guards simply folds away when hitting any obstruction, like a post, and returns to its original shape directly afterwards.
The cutting height adjustment is continuously variable for quick adaption to various conditions.
The direct driven drive line is running in a sealed oil bath keeping maintenance and wear to a minimum.
With an additional gearbox on the PZ 280F and PZ 320F, the tractor PTO can be reduced to 740rpm with no reduction in mower drum speed.
The PZ 320FC is equipped as standard with a conditioner. The conditioner rotor has a two-step gearbox for two different rotor speeds and can be removed in a couple of minutes.
The front-mounted mower PZ 320FC also has a Free-Float suspension as standard equipment.
