Kuhn: Choice of conditioner systems on mounted mowers

Kuhn’s mounted mowers now offer a choice of conditioning systems

Kuhn is now offering both steel-finger and nylon-flail conditioning systems on its mainstream mounted mower conditioners.
Popular models such as its FC313 and FC283 mounted mower conditioners have previously only been available with nylon flail conditioners, with steel finger systems confined to certain trailed models. Market demand and a two-year development programme, however, have led to a change in policy and the introduction of a choice of systems.
“We’ve gone through a series of tests and monitored the steel-finger conditioning system working on a number of our mounted models in recent years and are now in a position to offer the choice of systems on new machines,”Kuhn’s technical product manager Robert Garthwaite said.
“The degree of conditioning can be an important factor in silage quality, so choosing the right type of conditioner for your system is important. However, whatever the system on your machine, it’s equally important to be able to adjust the intensity according to conditions.

Purchasers of Kuhn mounted mowers can now specify a steel-finger conditioner as well as the nylon-finger option.

“A good range of adjustment and a simple system of altering the intensity is arguably as important as choosing between steel fingers or nylon flails.”
Kuhn also offers rubber roller conditioning units on selected models that are suitable for crops such as lucerne or red clover.
