The well-respected range of Downs graders, conveyors and vegetable handling equipment is now being sold and supported in the UK through Everett Brothers Engineering of Norfolk.
Downs, a long-established manufacturer that is now based in France, has been involved in the UK potato industry for more than 150 years. The company has positioned itself as a specialist in potato, onion, carrot and red beet post-harvest handling, selling in about 25 countries including the USA, Japan, China and Australia.
Downs has built its reputation on the quality and reliability of its products, while focussing heavily on the need to maximise operator safety.
“We have known Downs for many years and now, as Everett Brothers move more and more into supplying machinery for the potato industry, we see becoming the importers for the UK as a logical extension to our offering,” the managing director and co-founder of Everett Brothers, Brian Everett, said.
“Adding the Downs range to our Agronomic potato planters and our Wyma packhouse equipment means that we cover nearly all the requirements for grower, field base and packer.”
