Trimble Agriculture: Share information across the entire farm

The all-new Connected Farm dashboard, available from Cambridgeshire-based Trimble Agriculture specialist AS Communications, allows farmers to share information across their entire farm.
The Connected Farm dashboard is a free web interface that provides
farmers with a single location for viewing key information impacting on their farming operations. The dashboard manages data in the cloud, eliminating the need for USB storage and provides them with access to information from anywhere with an internet connection, including the Trimble TMX-2050 display. With a fully customisable screen, the dashboard comes with information widgets that can be moved and resized depending on operator preference.
By using the Connected Farm dashboard within their farming operations,
farmers can display field operation maps as they are completed and also overlay field imagery on top of aerial imagery to ensure field operations are being carried out correctly and in the right location. Farmers are also able to access up to date weather forecasts, rainfall information and commodity prices on the dashboard.
When used with Farm Works mapping software and with a Trimble DCM-300G modem, the Connected Farm dashboard can be used to wirelessly exchange guidance lines, variable-rate prescription maps and yield data between the office and field, providing growers with quick access to field data and improved record keeping for their farm office.

Fleet performance can also be monitored using the Connected Farm dashboard. F
armers can access real-time positions for mixed-fleets to make sure maximum vehicle efficiency is being achieved and to help prevent any possible vehicle theft.
Increased vehicle analysis is also available on most modern machines. By connecting the dashboard to vehicle Canbus systems, operators can monitor vehicle diagnostics such as fuel usage, battery voltage, oil pressure on a regular basis to ensure their vehicle is performing at optimum level.
The Connected Farm Vehicle Sync service can further be used to help wirelessly transfer guidance lines, coverage maps, tank levels and yield data between vehicles working in the same field, allowing operators to minimise overlap and crop inputs during field operations, while reducing their carbon footprint.
As well as the Connected Farm dashboard,
farmers are also now able to download two free apps to their smartphone or tablet for increased connectivity. The Connected Farm scout app can be used for mapping field boundaries, marking flags, and entering scouting information, while the Connected Farm fleet app can be used by farmers already using Connected Farm fleet applications to instantly monitor vehicle fleet positions and receive curfew alerts for their fleet.
