French manufacturer Rousseau – part of the global Alamo Group that includes Bomford and McConnel – has extended its hedge/verge cutter offering with the introduction of the Kondor and electric E-Kondor ranges.
The new Kondor, a versatile mower designed for landscape maintenance, offers advanced features to meet the needs of professional users. It can be equipped with an advanced (PA) or offset (PL) arm, offering a maximum horizontal reach of 5.6m to 6.1m.
Equipped with the latest rotor drive and cooling technologies developed by the Rousseau, the Kondor guarantees optimal performance for users. Its innovative cooling system, including a specific tank, a return filter to deaerate the oil and a honeycomb radiator, reduces the on-board oil capacity to just 40 litres, reducing the weight of the machine and maintenance costs. The powerful hydraulic motor delivers the power needed at a PTO speed of 540rpm.
This new electric E-Kondor, meanwhile, is offered to meet the growing demand for environmentally friendly equipment. It incorporates all the characteristics of the hydraulic version, offering the same performance and functionality.
Thanks to its electric drive, the E-Kondor runs more quietly and eliminates the need for oil tank, filters and pumps. This not only reduces noise and vibration, but also saves fuel by allowing a lower tractor engine speed. The E-Kondor is also lighter than its hydraulic version, with its weight reduced by 80kg.
The E-Kondor incorporates high-quality automotive components such as a core-cooled generator and an integrated cooled ECU to ensure optimum performance. These new solutions allow a reduction of vibrations and noises, while allowing the rotor to turn faster than other ranges of electric machines from Rousseau. The speed of the rotor is adjustable to adapt to different conditions and quantities of material to be cut.
