Swedish trailer manufacturer Ivarssons in Metsjö has launched its new MetaQ 51 model that uses new hydraulic suspension technology instead of the traditional parabolic bogie suspension. This is said to provide smoother running at high speeds at a lower price than other technical solutions.
The company’s MetaQ trailers are market leaders in Scandinavia, and the latest MetaQ 51 model has been developed during the past five years. It’s built in high-strength steel with a design that aims to provide both low soil compaction and low fuel consumption. The centre of gravity is also lowered to increase stability and road safety.
The MetaQ 51 chassis can be supplied with Metsjö’s container changer system allowing it to be equipped with all the company’s MetaX-sized containers. Conventional trailer options include a 21 cubic metre grain trailer, a 14 cubic metre dumper trailer and a 29 cubic metre forage trailer.
There’s also a 7.3 cubic metre dumper body that, in combination with the compact hydraulic suspension, results in a loading height of just 1.8m, making it ideal for use with mini loaders.
The trailer can be equipped with side 800/40-22.5 tyres that, in combination with the trailer’s low weight of 3.5t, helps minimise compaction.
The hydraulic suspension allows the chassis height to be adjusted within a range of 35cm. It can also provide a readout of the load weight to the driver.
Automatic adjustment of braking force is standard, and the MetaQ 51 can also be equipped with ABS brakes and automatic anti-theft and road safety functions.
