Two existing John Deere groundscare dealers are to take over Henton & Chattell’s territory.

Nottinghamshire-based grass machinery distributor Henton & Chattell will leave the John Deere dealership network at the end of March 2023. Two of Deere’s existing dealer businesses are expanding to serve customers in the territory.

Henton & Chattell, which has been in business for 90 years and has been a John Deere dealer for more than two decades, will continue to trade as normal as one of the UK’s leading distributors in the sector.

The managing director of Henton & Chattell, Peter Chaloner, said he’d enjoyed working with the John Deere team and thanked them for their support and professionalism.

“We will continue to work closely with our customers as we develop our professional turf business with other brands,” he added.

Deere’s Golf and Turf Division sales manager, Chris Meacock, said he was grateful for the commitment the team at Henton & Chattell has given during the past 20 years, and thanked them for their expertise and dedication over this time.

“We wish them every success in the future,” he added.

“Our existing dealership network is already expanding to ensure customers who are currently served by Henton & Chattell experience a seamless transition to our new structure.”

The move will see neighbouring agriculture and turf dealers Farol and Ripon Farm Services – the latter with its recently announced acquisition of FG Adamson & Son – grow to serve customers in the Nottinghamshire territory.
