Omex Agriculture: Port of Ipswich receives its largest ever vessel of liquid nitrogen

The MV Sten Frigg delivered more than 13,000t of liquid nitrogen fertiliser to the Port of Ipswich.

The Port of Ipswich has taken delivery of its largest ever shipment of liquid nitrogen destined for farmers across the UK.

The vessel Sten Frigg was carrying 13,320t of the fertiliser for Omex Agriculture when it arrived on November 14, 2020. It was the largest shipment of liquid fertiliser ever received at the port and, following successful docking, Omex discharged the product directly into its own dockside storage facilities.

“Covid-19 has caused an unprecedented number of challenges for UK agriculture during the past nine months,” Omex Agriculture’s managing director, Max Winkler, said. “But, it’s thanks to the Port of Ipswich, as well as our own dedicated support staff and fleet of tankers, as well as quality logistical planning, that we’ve been able to maintain the supply of liquid nitrogen to our customers and ensure timely delivery.”
