Väderstad’s CrossCutter Disc will be available for the new Carrier XL 425-625 from November 2019, allowing this versatile cultivator to work at ultra-shallow depths of only 3cm as well as down to 5cm across the full working width of the machine.
The Carrier XL plus the new 510mm CrossCutter Disc, manufactured from high-quality V-55 Swedish steel, is ideal for conserving moisture in the seedbed, while efficiently mixing crop residues within the topsoil and encouraging an early weed chit.
“A shallow stale seedbed increases the number of seeds germinating, and encourages earlier emergence,” Väderstad UK’s marketing manager, Andy Gamble, said. “This then means the following crop can either be drilled earlier or, with the extra time created, used to prepare an even better seedbed.”
