French manufacturer LaForge has further developed its 2019 Sima Show medal winning DynaTrac interface, that allows precision position control of equipment mounted on the back of a tractor, by adding camera guidance.
The company says its new Vision Pack brings affordable and accurate row guidance to any implement on any tractor. The system only needs to be purchased once and can be used with a range of different row crop implements with different row spacing requirements, for example for maize, sugar beet, wheat and so on.
LaForge adds that because its system operates using the sway function of the DynaTrac arms, instead of a lateral movement on other interfaces, there is less wear of soil-engaging parts. Effectively, position adjustment is achieved by changing the direction of the implement.
Of course, this system allows for upgrading or changing implements without having to buy an embedded guidance function again, but LaForge also suggests that once the benefits of guidance are validated by camera-guided implement, users might choose to switch to GPS guidance, allowing all whole their crop establishment equipment to be guided with the benefits of the accuracy provided by the latest RTK correction systems.
