New Holland Agriculture has launched its new CX5 and CX6 five- and six-strawwalker combines. With four models and seven versions, the series delivers unique quality and performance in every field and every crop.
This performance comes with best-in-class comfort of the new Harvest Suite Deluxe cab. The high capacity, together with the highly fuel-efficient engines featuring ECOBlue HI-eSCR technology for Stage IV compliance, and the easy, quick maintenance, is also said to result in best-in-class operating costs for the customer.
“The CX5 and CX6 Series offers a wide range of features and adaptation possibilities that can address every harvesting situation: fixed or Smart Sieve self-levelling cleaning shoe, Autofloat II system, a wide choice of headers including High-Capacity, Varifeed, Flex and Draper options, and the possibility to select straw chopping or rowing,” New Holland’s head of harvesting products, Skjoldager Sørensen, said. “Combined with the Series’ best-in-class crop-to-crop flexibility and advanced automation features in the PLM system, it makes the CX5 and CX6 ideal for customers who need the highest levels of versatility for crops and fields – cooperatives, mixed farmers, medium cash crop farmers and contractors.”
The new Harvest Suite Deluxe cab integrates feedback received through extensive customer consultation to set new standards in operator comfort. With 3.7 cubic metres of volume, it’s the biggest cab in its class and comfortably accommodates two occupants. The glazed area has been increased by seven per cent and now offers 6.3 square metres of glass, including a full width rear window, for outstanding visibility all round, on the widest headers, and on the grain tank.
The new deluxe air seat and adjustable side console featuring the proven CommandGrip force-based control handle, redesigned slimmer steering column with footrests provide an ergonomic workstation that will make the longest harvest days fly by. The cab also features New Holland’s ultra-wide, adjustable 26.4cm IntelliView IV colour touchscreen monitor. All this space and comfort comes with an exceptionally quiet environment at just 73dB(A).
The CX5 and CX6 series offers a model for every need: standard, Smart Sieve, Laterale, Hillside, this series caters for all terrains and slopes. New Holland’s patented Smart Sieve system controls the lateral movement of the sieve according to the degree of the slope and the size of the grains. It neutralizes unwanted radial movement, providing perfectly balanced sieve dynamics, maintain maximum cleaning efficiency on slopes up to 25 per cent.
Customers operating in hilly conditions can opt for the CX5.90 and CX6.90 in Laterale version, which features New Holland’s advanced automatic leveling system that provides transversal slope correction of up to 18 per cent on both sides, ensuring even grain distribution for optimum cleaning efficiency. For severe hillside conditions, the CX5.90 Hillside is the perfect solution. Two independent hydraulic systems – one for lateral slope correction, the other for longitudinal correction – ensure maximum efficiency of the separation and cleaning sections. Safety and field efficiency are increased as the wheels remain vertical.
New Holland’s exclusive four-drum technology, featuring the threshing drum with Multi-Tresh and Opti-Thresh system, rear beater, Rotary Separator and Straw Flow beater, is easy to adapt to suit a variety of crops and harvesting conditions with no compromise on grain and straw quality or throughput.
The CX5 and CX6 Series offers a broad range of adaptation possibilities that means customers can count on outstanding performance with no compromise on grain or straw quality in any number of crops and conditions. This flexibility comes with extreme ease of adapting the machine from one crop to another.
The Opti-Thresh system adapts to crop conditions by simply repositioning the rear part of the concave, which is done without tools. The Multi-Thresh system adapts to different cereal varieties of varying degrees of crop maturity with two adjustment positions of the Rotary Separator concave, which offers 20 per cent more capacity. With the new models New Holland further improves on more than 47 years of development on its four-drum technology with the introduction of a new square and adjustable straw beater.
The standard sectional concave makes switching crops extraordinarily fast, slashing the rebuilding time from six hours to 20 minutes. The lower concave sections can be changed without removing the straw elevator and just by easily replacing the sectional concaves the combine is ready to deliver the best threshing quality in a different crop.
New Holland’s unique Triple-Clean cascaded cleaning system boosts cleaning capacity by as much as 15 per cent with the addition of an extra cascade in the center of the grain pan. This maintains top cleaning quality when the machine’s overall capacity is optimized. A new double flight cross auger transfers grain to the elevator faster, resulting in up to 10 per cent increase in throughput of the grain elevator system on the six strawwalker models.
The exclusive Opti-Speed featured on the higher capacity CX7 and CX8 combines is now also available on the new CX5 and CX6 Series. This system automatically adjusts the speed of the strawwalkers when working up or down slopes of up to 10 per cent to ensure the straw is shaken evenly and any remaining kernels are extracted from the straw.
The CX5 and CX6 Series also features New Holland’s award-winning Opti-Fan system that automatically adapts fan speed to the direction and degree of the slope when the combine is working up- or downhill resulting in less losses and more grain in the tank.
With these advanced features, the CX5 and CX6 consistently deliver best-in-class cleaning performance on all terrains and slopes.
