Starco: HS Flotation tyre is more efficient in the field and more agile on the road

Wheels and tyres for agricultural implements are not traditionally designed for high speed use, but Starco has thrown out this premise by launching the innovative HS Flotation, a 17-inch solution for harrows, rollers, seed drills, trailers and other implements that allows upgrading existing implements, resulting in implements that work harder in the field and roll easy on the road at higher speed.

With the Starco HS Flotation, farmers will be able to travel at up to 65km/hr on the road. This is possible due to a higher tyre pressure and the special tread design and construction of this new radial tyre, which was launched at Agritechnica 2017 in Hanover.

Other benefits of the innovative solution are maximum stability – both in the field and on the road – thanks to its unique radial construction, and better self-cleaning thanks to intelligent placement of the mud breakers in the tread base.

Furthermore, a specially designed centreline pattern on the tyre, shoulder traction and combined flotation pattern construction optimise rolling, while a flat profiled tyre with large footprint assures reduced ground pressure. The HS Flotation’s steel wheel has been engineered, developed and manufactured by Starco, and treated with Starco’s rust preventing e-coat technology.

This new wheel and tyre solution is already under test with several cultivation equipment manufacturers, and will be ready and on the market for the 2018 season.
