Lemken’s update of its popular Primus and Albatros (pictured left) trailed sprayers goes well beyond their more modernised exteriors; both technical implement features and handling have been substantially improved, and the smaller entry-level Primus for professional arable farming has been completely overhauled inside and out.
Controls are now arranged more clearly and all major connections are centrally integrated behind protective covers. The attractive design is enhanced by a more-rounded profile, LED lighting and a colour scheme that’s in line with the brand’s other field sprayer ranges.
New features include a job computer and terminal: Lemken’s updated cab interior is now equipped with an intuitive graphical user interface on the CCI-50 terminal, which comes with the standard implement models already installed. A DGPS receiver can be retrofitted if customers wish to use proven CCI apps, for example for automatic width section control or parallel tracking assistance. The Primus and Albatros models from the 12 series feature ISObus as standard and can be operated using any compatible terminal.
The basic Primus version now comes with a circulation line, meaning that uniform spray fluid is instantly available across the full boom width as soon as the implement is switched on. EES models feature automated water hydraulics, and cleaning procedures can therefore be comfortably controlled from the cab for more environmentally responsible, sustainable work in the field.
Another detail worth mentioning is the flexible drawbar that allows operators to attach the sprayer either at the top or bottom position. The capacity of the clean water tank has also been increased to 320 litres.
The updated sprayers can be ordered now. The Primus 10 and 12 will have tank capacities of 2,400 to 4,400 litres and boom widths of 15m to 30m, while the Albatros 10 and 12 will have capacities of 4,000 to 6,200 litres and boom widths of 15m to 39m.
