Strautmann: Triple-augered mixers herald further efficiencies for large farms

Strautmann is to extend its range of vertical feed mixers with the launch of two triple-augered machines at EuroTier 2016.

The new Verti-Mix 3451 Triple and Verti-Mix 4501 Triple offer the same build quality, reliability, fuel efficiency and mixing speed and effectiveness as other Strautmann machines, but have much larger capacities – up to 34.5 cubic metres and 45.0 cubic metres respectively.

James Woolway of UK importer Opico said the extra auger allowed greater volumes of feed to be mixed just as effectively as the other machines.

“The key difference is the capacity: the 3451 has a basic capacity of 28.5 cubic metres, but with height extensions this can be increased to 31.5 cubic metres and further to 34.5 cubic metres,” he added.

“The Verti-Mix 4501 Triple is an even larger mixer – with capacities from 38 cubic metres to 45 cubic metres.”

The top of the range Verti-Mix 4501 has a maximum capacity of 45 cubic metres.
The top-of-the-range Verti-Mix 4501 has a maximum capacity of 45 cubic metres.

Both machines utilise the new Vario 2 auger with its unique stepped design that speeds mixing time and so reduces labour and tractor time. There’s also the option to fit an Innodur wear strip made of stainless steel to reduce corrosion between mixes, prolonging auger lifetime.

As with all Verti-Mix models, there are a wide range of discharge options: side doors, front or rear discharge conveyors, and conveyor extensions.

The new triple-augered Verti-Mix models will become available in the UK in 2017.
