David Mein has been appointed as service manager for the Strautmann range of products following Opico’s successful launch as the sole UK distributor of the leading forage and feeding technology brand.
In his new role, Mr Mein will be responsible for liaising with the factory in Germany and providing technical support in the UK. He will be working with dealers to provide expert advice and training on the range of machinery, including trailed and self-propelled vertical auger diet feeders, forage wagons, and rear-discharge muck spreaders.
Mr Mein has spent all his working life in the agricultural engineering trade, and joined Opico in early 2015 as Maschio Gaspardo service manager. Prior to that he had worked as service manager at Claas dealer Rickerby Ltd for 18 years.
Opico’s managing director, James Woolway, said Strautmann was a proactive company that was investing heavily in research and development.
“David’s broad experience will be invaluable in making sure this knowledge is effectively transferred back to UK dealers and customers,” he added.
Mr Mein will also retain his previous role as Opico’s northern technical support, providing dealers and customers with expert advice on the range of Opico brands including He-Va, Maschio, Gaspardo, Sky drills and Strautmann.
