The restyled and upgraded TD4F Series orchard tractor is based on the TD4000F tractor range that built its considerable success on the optimal balance between performance, versatility, affordability and ease of use. The TD4F series introduces a host of innovative technical and functional features that make these machines ideal for modern fruit growing.
The new series offers three models – the TD4.70F, TD4.80 and TD4.90F – with engine outputs ranging from 65 to 88hp. They feature a new hydraulic power shuttle, entirely redesigned ergonomics and new styling, a rugged servo-operated PTO, and easy access hydraulic couplings.
The new TD4F orchard tractors pack a powerful performance in a compact package. These robust, easy-to-use tractors excel in versatility. Low profile and narrow, they can be whatever the farmer needs them to be for every type of application and environment, from confined spaces and the tight rows of orchards, to nut growers and vineyards.
These tractors are made to perform while maintaining low operating costs. They’re powered by the four-cylinder F5C turbo intercooler engine, that also runs the award-winning T4F/N/V series and develops great power and torque reserve of up to 46 per cent, delivering smooth power at all operating speeds. In addition, the low, 2,300rpm rated speed reduces noise and vibration, resulting in greater operator comfort. The Stage 3B compliant engine has long service intervals of up to 600 hours. This, combined with the low fuel consumption and a large 80-litre fuel tank, means more uptime, productivity and cost efficiency.
A new Power Shuttle transmission that ensures smooth and modulated shift between forward and reverse is available for the top-of-the-range version. The Power Shuttle lever is mounted on the steering wheel and easy to reach, and can be operated without using the clutch pedal.
The established 20×12 creep speed transmission is offered in mechanical Syncro Shuttle configuration alongside the standard 12×12 version. It’s easy to use and is perfect for fine tuning forward speed to a variety of applications for maximum productivity. Two different transmissions to optimise productivity and to enhance versatility.
The entirely redesigned braking system offers better operator comfort and safety. Less pedal travel and improved system responsiveness provide a much more positive braking performance and operator safety, especially on slopes where fast activation is crucial.
The restyled ROPS operator station offers a convenient control layout and greater ergonomics; most of the changes have increased both comfort and operating functionality. Brake and throttle pedals have been relocated, the hydraulic levers are easy to reach and the servo PTO is now positioned to make it even easier to use.
The controls are intuitive and positioned so they are easy to operate, with key transmissions and hydraulic levers grouped in a wider spacing, so that operator can easily use them without needing to stretch. A bigger storage box on the left-hand side adds to the new models’ convenience. Everything has been conceived to maximise comfort and ease of use.
This great care on functional details is accompanied by an improvement in style. There’s a new hood, that’s been redesigned to convey the familiar New Holland look and feel, a new fender design, new platform trims and a new rear hood.
All TD4F models feature separate power steering and hydraulic pumps to ensure full hydraulic power is always readily available. For demanding applications, a 61 lit/min high-capacity MegaFlow pump can be specified. Up to four rear valves plus two midmount valves can be specified with a joystick control. New Holland’s exclusive Lift-O-Matic rear-linkage control allows the operator to raise and lower implements to a preset position using a single button.
Engaged via a servo-assisted control conveniently located under the steering wheel, the rear PTO on TD4F tractors has a direct drive system that reduces power losses and the number of parts liable to wear within the transmission. Operated by a hand lever, the PTO clutch allows the operator to feed power to a driven implement gradually, which reduces wear and tear. The three available speeds – 540, 540E and ground speed – enable the operator working with an implement at reduced engine speed, adjusting it on different and difficult terrain conditions.
The New TD4F series is ideal for those who need a versatile and easy-to-use machine for a variety of applications. Its compact size, narrow width and low-profile base make it extremely agile and extremely well suited to specialty applications. All the improvements aim to deliver an affordable tractor with greater comfort and with a high grade of flexibility, ideal for orchard applications.
