Amazone: Certos TX heavy compact disc harrow works down to 20cm

With the introduction of the new trailed Certos TX, Amazone has supplemented the top end of its range of compact disc harrows.

The special features of the model, which is offered in working widths of 4m, 5m, 6m and 7m, include the integrated centre running gear and the especially large 660mm in diameter serrated discs. Thus equipped, the Certos TX can be utilised for working depths from seven to 20cm, and thus can cope with a wide operational spectrum, ranging from stubble cultivation via medium deep and intensively mixing soil tillage down to seedbed preparation, as well as the breaking up of pasture land and fallow. For the simultaneous sowing of catch crops, the machine can be combined with the GreenDrill seeder box.

Thanks to the large discs, the Certos TX is excellently suited to the intensive incorporation of organic matter at working depths down to 20cm. The angles of 22-degree for the leading discs and 17-degree on the second row respectively provide a very aggressive working performance, a strong penetration force down into the soil and a thorough incorporation ability so that even on heavy soils with plenty of organic matter, an intensive soil tillage is possible.

The 130mm diameter disc bearings are maintenance-free and consist, like on the smaller Catros compact disc harrows from Amazone, of an integrated slide seal with an oil-filled hub.

The 350mm disc spacing and the individual suspension of the discs ensure a large through-passage and blockage-free operation even where copious amounts of organic matter prevail, such as, for example, after grain maize. The distance between the second disc row and the following roller allows the soil to settle between soil tillage and reconsolidation. For the additional levelling and crumbling of the soil, Amazone offers the Crushboard as a special option that’s attached in front of the following roller. Especially when being used for seedbed preparation, this Crushboard is an option that makes sense.

The Certos TX can be utilised at working depths of seven to 20cm, making it suitable for a very wide operational spectrum.

The integrated centre running gear makes the machine very easily manoeuvrable both in the field and on the road. It’s equipped with a hydraulic or 40km/hr approved air-braking system for quick road transport. In order to ensure a very smooth ride and an even working performance, the Certos is, in addition, equipped as standard with a drawbar shock-absorber system.

The specific position of the centre running gear guarantees good weight distribution and allows the use of different following rollers. This means utilising the most suitable roller depending on the soil conditions, and for this a wide range of rollers is available.

During operation, depth control is carried out via both the following roller and, up front, via the support wheels. On the Certos TX, the hydraulic adjustment of the working depth is standard. This allows the stepless matching of the working depth on the move as well to being able to respond to differing conditions.

As a guide to setting the working depth, an easily visible scale is provided. The adjustment of the Crushboard is comfortably carried out from either side via centralised spindles. For the maximum comfort, the hydraulic adjustment of the Crushboard is also possible as an option from the tractor seat.
