Mitas: VF HC 2000 and VF HC 1000 tyres introduced for tractors and sprayers

Mitas has started sales of Very High Flexion (VF) tyres on worldwide markets. The new product line will play a key role in the company’s premium product offering that will replace Continental-branded tyres from January 2015.

For high-horsepower tractors, Mitas has released the VF 380/95R38 HC 2000 and VF 480/95R50 HC 2000. For sprayer applications, the VF 380/90R46 HC 1000 is already available. The HC 2000 in VF 600/70R30 and VF 710/70R42 will be available for the start of 2015.

“The VF tyre range extension proves Mitas’ competence in developing tyres for the largest and most demanding of machinery segments. VF tyres are the backbone of Mitas Premium product offer,” the company’s marketing and sales director, Andrew Mabin, said. “Mitas developed the VF tyres to meet the demand of increased load and speed required by the highest horsepower agricultural machinery.”

Mitas is also the only tyre manufacturer to supply VF tyres for new Case IH Magnum Rowtrac tractor. The VF 380/95R38 HC 2000 tyre was shown on the Rowtrac when it was unveiled to the media in the US. Mitas VF HC 2000 tyres will be a standard fitment on Case IH Magnum Rowtrac.

The VF’s flexible sidewall gives the tyre a larger footprint.

The Very High Flexion tyre’s main advantage is maintaining constant tyre pressure at any speed. The VF’s larger footprint leads to less soil compaction and increased mobility under difficult and wet soil conditions. For instance the VF HC 2000 tyre has a B speed category, allowing speeds of up to 50km/hr with a maximum load of 7,750kg.

When compared with the standard tyre, the VF tyre enables 40 per cent more load. The special feature of the Mitas VF rated tyres is the highly flexible sidewall allowing for extended footprint competing shoulder to shoulder with increasingly popular rubber tracks.

The VF tyres are produced at the Mitas factories at Charles City, Iowa, and Otrokovice in the Czech Republic.
