New Holland: Upgraded TD3.50 tractor features more performance and better ergonomics

New Holland Agriculture has introduced a major upgrade of the TD3.50 Series tractor that brings significant improvements to performance and ergonomics. The new TD3.50 has also adopted the family styling of New Holland tractors.

The company’s head of tractor and precision land management products, Luca Mainardi, said the TD3.50 was a multipurpose value tractor very well suited for a wide variety of applications typical of small tractors, including hobby, equestrian and small open field applications.

“The improvements we have introduced further extend its excellent versatility and add to the operator’s comfort,” he added.

The styling of the New Holland TD3.50 now follows the tractor’s larger siblings.

The new hood features the family styling of New Holland tractors, with the sleek side panels and side grills. The fuel tank has been redesigned to fit with the new styling. The rear linkage and operator platform are now separated by a steel partition behind the seat, bringing improvements to safety, ergonomics and styling.

The tractor’s controls have been revised for 2015.

The control layout has been revised to improve ergonomics: the shuttle lever has been relocated to the left of the steering wheel, the Lift-O-Matic and hand throttle controls have been repositioned for better comfort, and the draft and position control levers have a redesigned cluster that groups functions together for greater convenience.

The foot pedals have also been ergonomically redesigned and repositioned. The seat position has been improved and the steering wheel raised and tilted forward, so that the operator sits with a more comfortable working posture.

The new FPT Industrial engine used with the TD3.50 is the proven S8000, that delivers reliable and powerful performance on many New Holland products. The Stahe IIIA turbocharged three-cylinder engine now develops 48hp and 190Nm of torque at 1,400rpm, which is 40 per cent more than its predecessor.

The rear linkage has new lower arms that are stronger and shorter by 100 mm. This has increased the tractors’s lift capacity to 2,200kg, 50 per cent more than the previous model.

The cast front axle support is stronger and results in a better weight distribution, and together with the longer wheelbase of 2,057mm and the shorter overall dimension of the tractor, this results in improved stability.
