Storth: Hydraulic Mixer allows slurry to be stirred in range of situations

Slurry handling specialist Storth has designed a new Hydraulic Mixer that simply plugs onto a telehandler and has the versatility to be used in a range of situations where slurry needs stirring before being pumped out and spread. It’s ideal for use in under-slatted buildings, small lagoons and above-ground storage tanks.

The Hydraulic Mixer requires a telehandler with an oil pump of at least 60-80 lit/min with 200 bar pressure. Once attached, the mixer can be lifted over the sides of tanks and lowered into the slurry, or for under-slatted sheds it can be tilted down into the slurry channel.

The three-blade propeller is 900mm wide and its angle can be adjusted. In addition, the propeller can turn in both directions allowing slurry to be pushed away or drawn towards it, depending on the requirement. All these features add up to give the machine flexibility of use and an excellent mixing capability.

The Hydraulic Mixer with a standard 5m boom retails at £5,850 (price correct at October 2014). Alternative boom lengths can be made by Storth on request. Also available is a ratchet strap system to fasten the mixer to the forks of the telehandler.
