Reco: New Sulky seed drills for 2009

Always following farmers requirements has brought Sulky to consider the key stage of crop establishment as a whole. Indeed, the ideal drilling combination must satisfy problems concerning quality sowing of course, but also available manpower, daily workrates and, from now on, with Environment protection laws, enduring weed control policies meaning sometimes increased soil preparations.
The power harrow confirms its supremacy for soil preparation associated with drilling, through its compactness and ability to work into a variety of conditions (cultivated stubble to ploughing). The Cultiline HR range, with four rotors/metre, enables Sulky to offer, for 2009, three complete drilling Packs: Tramline (mechanical drills) with Suffolk coulters or discs with 30kg pressure; Optiline MP (pneumatic drills) with Suffolk coulters or discs with 30kg pressure; and the Optiline Pro with discs up to 80kg pressure.
There’s also the new Maxidrill 4m, which is quick and easy to move. To face up to their increasing farm sizes, a lot of farmers are opting for minimum tillage techniques and drills able to work at 15km/hr and more. One obstacle often remains – the distance between fields – which implies frequent road transport. This is no problem for the new folding Maxidrill TRW 4m, which has a dedicated transport axle and low pressure wheels. This feature provides safe road transport with a full hopper, and makes headland turns lighter for fragile soils.
The new Easydrill trailed drills combine high daily outputs, low horsepower requirements and the possibility of working towards direct drilling, or even fertilising at the same time.
Two new models were revealed by Sulky at the Sima Show: a 6m folding with single metering and a 3m Fertisem. This latest version has a split-hopper and a double metering to fertilise at the same time as drilling.
During 2009, two more Easydrill models – a 4m with fixed frame and a folding 4m model – will also be launched.
