Amazone: New 12m Primera drill for direct and mulch sowing

The Primera DMC 12000, with a 12m working width, has now joined the 6m and 9m working width machines for direct and mulch sowing. It is a machine for flexible arable farming, as it offers farms the possibility to adapt their cultivation methods to the particular conditions.
The hopper system and metering method enable simultaneous application of seed and fertiliser with the hopper divides. The metering units can be adjusted separately from each other. Three different metering cassettes (large, medium, fine) ensure precise metering of the volumes of the various seeds and fertilisers. Outside the seed hopper, there are three freely accessible distributor heads in which the seed and the fertiliser are evenly distributed to the seed rows.
An outstanding feature of Primera DMC seed drill is the Amazone chisel coulter system. This allows precise sowing at high ground speeds both for direct sowing and, following a pre-cultivation, also for mulch sowing. The coulter system consists of a Dura chisel point, which is guided into the soil by two covering rollers. Each individual chisel coulter is guided on a parallelogram and protected from damage by the Revomat stone release system. The sowing depth is thus independent for each chisel coulter. The four-row arrangement of the coulter units on longitudinal bars ensure that the Primera provides a good through-flow of straw and previous crop residues.
Working speeds of up to 15km/hr are possible and 400hp is sufficient to tap the full working potential of the Primera DMC 12000. The Primera DMC’s broad field of application and high efficiency, combined with the fact that it is very easy to pull, make for very cost-effective cultivation.
