Väderstad Group is increasing the size of its factory at Väderstad, Sweden, by another 12,600 square metres. The expansion will provide additional floor space for assembly and painting, with the aim of achieving an annual production capacity of 10,000 machines by 2028.
The company has been experiencing a strong increase in demand for its products in the past few years, with turnover increasing from 237 million euros in 2017 to 550 million euros in 2022.
“The continued expansion of our factory at Väderstad is in line with our growth targets,” the CEO of Väderstad Group, Henrik Gilstring, said. “It will benefit both our customers and our dealers, and help create more job opportunities and a more efficient flow in our production.”
The decision for the latest expansion was taken at a board meeting at the end of January 2023, and construction began at the beginning of April. The new buildings should be in full use by autumn 2024.
Two new buildings of 6,300 square metres will be erected, taking the total production area on the site to approximately 70,000 square metres.
Machines produced at Väderstad currently meet demand for all global sales regions except North America, which is supplied from factories at Langbank, Canada, and Wahpeton, USA.
