Pöttinger will add a new offering of precision seeders to its existing range of seed drills following the aquisition of Italian manufacturer MaterMacc.
The purchase, which was completed on November 7, 2022, means the Austrian firm takes over MaterMacc’s production site at San Vito al Tagliamento, in Northern Italy. The deal is a result of Pöttinger’s current focus on finding new technologies for its established markets.
MaterMacc is known for precision seeding technology, mechanical and pneumatic seeding technology, chopping technology and other OEM components. Pöttinger said the two companies products, passion for agriculture, location and above all the workforce complement each other very well.
MaterMacc employs about 80 people, and Pöttinger has ensured continuity by acquiring the entire staff and factory (which is only about 50km from Italy’s border with Austria), thus utilising existing experience. For the time being, the brand, sales, service network and the spare parts supply will remain the same.
However, Pöttinger will contribute its know-how in the best possible way in order to achieve success in this new market segments. MaterMacc’s existing customers will continue to have access to the trusted service and support.
