Fendt: Loader wagon production moves to Wolfenbüttel plant

Production of Fendt’s forage wagons, including the Tigo, has switched to Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Fendt has opened a new loader wagon production facility at its Wolfenbüttel plant in Germany.

Balers have been manufactured at the site in Lower Saxony since 1899. In 2017, Agco/Fendt acquired the plant from Welger Werke, and since then more than 20 million euros have been invested to build a modern and sustainable development and production site there.

All models of Fendt loader wagons are now assembled at Wolfenbüttel in 4,200 square metre production hall. A further 10,000 square metres of logistics space has also been provided.

The redevelopment at the site has included the round baler production line being rebuilt and configured for the future. All models are now produced on one production line.

“It’s been a long and arduous road to start loader wagon assembly here,” the plant manager, Jakob Arnold, said. “We’ve been able to empty entire halls through comprehensive process optimisation and consolidation of round baler production; we then gutted these and prepared them for loader wagon production.

All Fendt's forage wagon models are now built on the same production line at Wolfenbüttel.

“During the summer of 2022, we built the new assembly line from scratch. An additional 60 jobs for permanent employees have been created for the new areas of activity.”

The new assembly line at Wolfenbüttel enables the production of a wide variety of eight series and 25 different loader wagon models on one line. With the aid of a scissor lift, employees on the production line can also work at heights of up to 4.10m on the larger loader wagons.
