New Holland has announced that Russells has acquired neighbouring dealership RES.

Based at Malton, in North Yorkshire, Russells had nine New Holland Agriculture depots across Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire before the deal. The firm plans to integrate RES into its agricultural business with the retention of the Harby depot, near Melton Mowbray.

The RES territory will complement Russells’ current territories. There will be continuity of service to RES’ existing customers, and owner Bob Skinner and his staff will all join Russells’ team.

Russells’ CEO Paul Russell said he looked forward to the challenge and opportunities the new territory provided, while maintaining an excellent level of service to the existing customer base.

“Russells is a family business, and we place customer care at the core of everything we do,” he added. “We’re delighted to welcome Bob and all the other experienced staff from RES to Russells, and look forward to growing our business in the new area together with New Holland.”

Bob Skinner said that while these decisions are always difficult, he, his family and all the people at RES were confident that the integration of the RES business into Russells would strengthen the service provided to the Leicestershire farming community for many more years to come.

“It’ll be business as usual at Harby and we look forward to working with Paul Russell and his team,” he added.
