KWS: New maize best practice booklets published

KWS’ new Maize Best Practice booklets look at growing and feeding the crop.

Maize plant breeder KWS has published two new maize best practice guide booklets that can be downloaded online for free.

One of the handy technical reference guides focuses on growing and agronomy, covering subjects which include site and variety selection, row spacing and seed rates, as well as fertiliser requirements and environmental considerations. Maize Best Practice: Growing and Agronomy also has harvesting tips and a section on how to minimise disease build-up.

The second maize best practice guide contains information on all aspects of ensiling and feeding maize silage for livestock. It includes sections on corn cob mix and crimped grain, both of which offer a high-quality home-grown feed alternative. In addition, Maize Best Practice: Ensiling, Feeding and Nutrition provides advice to growers of crops for anaerobic digestion on, for example, how to achieve high methane yields.
