McConnel: Extendable track option for the Robocut

Vegetation control specialist McConnel has introduced an extendable track width option for its Robocut RC56 and RC75 all-terrain remote-control power units. Unlike existing variable track width designs, the new McConnel system can be set to extend just one track.

In addition, the company offers a unique automated system. This can be set to automatically extend the track on the lowest side of the machine in work without compromising the overall width of the machine.

Key features are:

  • variable track width extension from 1,300mm up to a maximum of 1,800mm;
  • each track can be independently extended by up to 250mm per side;
  • the tracks can be adjusted on the move via the Robocut remote control; and
  • an automated track extension system option is available that will automatically extend the track on the downward side of the slope according to gradient
The new Robocut extendable track system is operated from the remote control.

“Our existing Robocut already delivers exceptional side slope stability, with a safe working angle of up to 55 degrees,” McConnel marketing manager Wayne Brown said.

“The extendable track option will be available to meet the demands of users routinely operating in extreme terrain, a wider track width enabling the operator to work with increased confidence,” he added. “Although the safe working angle across a slope is unchanged, a Robocut with both tracks opened out to a maximum width of 1,800mm will offer exceptional stability.”
